Remember the dress pattern I bought from ebay?...
I am SO glad you can't see it close up, lol! Everything that could go wrong did go wrong, from my sewing machine playing up, to my complete ineptitude generally when it comes to anything to do with cutting out, matching up and sewing a straight line. Bah humbug, I was not a happy seamstress!
I doggedly continued, telling myself it would be worth it in the end. Hmmm. There's a good reason I have my arms tucked in like that....the armholes are enormous (I followed the pattern...look at the blue version in the first pic!)
If my sewing teacher from my school days saw my seams, she would say, (with a raised voice and cross face) "go back and do it again!!"
The back of the neckline....let's not go there!
Oh dear....I so wanted to become a dress-maker, but after years of trying, I am still rubbish at it! You know the saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try try again"? How many try-try-agains do you do before you accept you can't do it?? :)
(Without the tie belt, it actually makes a rather comfy nightdress, so all is not lost!)
Happy Friday Friends! xxx
